Our organisation is all about people – the people who live in our homes, the people in the communities we serve and the people we work with.

So, it’s no surprise that we recruit for attitude and behaviour which are central to us delivering great experiences for everyone!

We employ people who are passionate about making a difference who can take responsibility and get things done. And we have developed a culture which supports people to do this.

As a not-for-profit housing association, we provide homes and services to over 16,000 people across Greater Manchester. We build affordable new homes, work with partners to reduce homelessness and support people to reach their potential.

This role will help us to do this by helping to enable clients to live independently in accommodation suitable to their needs and to maintain their home in the community.

In this role, you will be responsible for

  • Helping to successfully build on skills that will support the client to access work, training or education and community based activities.

  • Supporting clients to maintain and sustain financial inclusion, promoting and maintaining healthy lifestyles and engaging in meaningful activities.

  • Under direction from the Project Manager, self-management coaches will support core-coordinators to ensure that all aspects of housing management, housing related support and enablement support is carried out to the highest level.

  • To work as part of a team within supported housing and outreach services in Greater Manchester, providing high quality, personalised housing related support and enablement support to young adult clients on outreach basis with a diagnosis of ADHD and ASD and outreach clients with substance misuse issues.

We need people who are / have

  • Experience of working in a supported housing environment or relevant social care setting  and that has an understanding of the needs of vulnerable adults and young people.

  • Knowledge of the issues that can impact on the lives of clients: behaviour management, understanding diagnoses, leaving care and mental health.

  • Experience of working with statutory agencies and voluntary support services.

  • Experience of support planning and risk assessment.

  • The ability to develop positive working relationships with all clients, their families, colleagues and partner agents

Due to the nature of the role a DBS check is required and you must be flexible in your approach and be willing to undertake duties as required by the service, which includes sleep in’s, residential work and being involved in new initiatives to meet the dynamic and progressive nature of the service. You must also have the ability to work shifts including evenings, some weekends and bank holidays and hold a Valid UK driving licence.

Everyone’s welcome here. Our culture is inclusive, and we are committed to increasing diversity. We enable everyone to be themselves at work, so that they feel at home with us. And we trust and support people to do their best, in a role that is fulfilling and rewarding because we know that this helps us to deliver better outcomes for our customers and our colleagues.

If you want to be part of our team and help us make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
